Educational Screening Requests

Thank you for your interest in The Cat That Lives in Your Dreams.

This page is intended only for accredited educational institutions (e.g., universities, colleges, schools, and their libraries or departments) seeking permission to host a one-time, non-commercial screening for students and/or faculty as part of teaching, coursework, or related academic programming.

How to Request an Educational Screening
  1. Download the Educational Screening License (PDF).

    • The form grants a limited, non-exclusive, one-time license for an educational, non-commercial screening.

    • Please review all terms carefully, including restrictions on copying, uploading, broadcast, or wider circulation of the film file.

  2. Complete the form.

    • Fill in your institution name, department or unit, contact person, screening date, venue, and estimated audience size.

    • Indicate whether the screening will be free to attend (required for use under this educational license).

    • Ensure that an authorized representative of your institution signs and dates the form.

  3. Return the signed license.

    • Email the completed and signed PDF to: js12963@nyu.edu

    • Please use the subject line: Educational Screening Request – The Cat That Lives in Your Dreams.

    • You will receive a confirmation email, along with a secure screening file and any relevant viewing notes or contextual information.

  4. After the screening.

    • Any downloaded file must be deleted from local devices and storage after the event.

    • Streaming links may not be shared or posted publicly and should not remain accessible beyond the agreed screening window.

Important Conditions and Limitations
  • This license does not transfer any ownership or copyright in the film.

  • The license is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and valid for one screening only, on the agreed date.

  • The film may not be:

    • posted on public or institutional streaming platforms;

    • embedded in course websites or repositories for ongoing access;

    • duplicated, edited, or re-used for future events without renewed written permission.

For Non‑Educational, Public, or Commercial Uses

If you are:

  • a film festival, gallery, museum, community organization, distributor, streaming platform, or

  • any institution seeking broader or ongoing access, or interested in broadcast, streaming, or other forms of distribution,

please do not use this educational license form.

Instead, contact me directly at [your email] with:

  • your organization name,

  • the type of use you are proposing (e.g., festival screening, public program, broadcast, streaming, etc.),

  • location, dates, and expected audience, and

  • any information about fees, honoraria, or revenue sharing.

These requests involve different rights, fees, and terms, and will be handled through a separate, negotiated agreement.
